- What is the name of your business and what is your role? Thompsons Travel – New Business Manager
- Describe your business in two sentences. The Thompsons Travel Group is one of the most, well established travel groups in South Africa. We specialise in both Business & Leisure Travel.
- How long have you been in business? I have been at Thompsons Travel for 2 years and have been in the travel industry for 12 years.
- How did you get into this business? After my studies, I travelled extensively and worked on cruise ships. It was then that I fell in love with travel & have been involved ever since.
- What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced, and how did you overcome it? Cold Calling is the biggest challenge that I face on a daily basis, however, I use creative marketing strategies to keep me positive and ahead of the game.
- What single trait/skill could you not have succeeded without? People Skills, being able to communicate with people on all levels.
- What is the best business advice you’ve received? If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.
- Your secret to business success is? Remain humble, always stay true to yourself and believe that miracles do happen.
- What is your business goal for 2014? To secure as much new business as possible.
- Tell us one thing that not many people know about you? Completely random but I love watching Binneland on KYKNET even though I don’t understand anything without the subtitles.
