Topic: Authentic Leadership
In this frantic day and age, the concept of leadership has changed greatly. How do we lead our companies and communities in a way that remains true to who we are and what we believe in?
Boni Mchunu excels in strategy development and strategy operational implementation. She is a great team leader and team player. Her leadership style is exemplary. She is one of the influential and credible businesswomen in South Africa. Boni is rapidly developing her national reputation as a businesswoman and is gaining recognition as board member with integrity and drive, recently appointed by some reputable institutions and companies.
Guest Speaker: Boni Mchunu
Boni was born and raised in Pietermaritzburg. She is currently the Managing Director at East Coast Radio and is responsible for spearheading projects such as the Revenue diversification project, Brand strategy implementation, and their Audience diversification strategy.
During her career, Boni has led key strategic projects in companies including but not limited to the Tourism Indaba which involved bringing international airlines to KZN in order to grow both domestic and international tourists for KZN.
At Unilever Boni was responsible for overseeing the marketing of key Unilever brands such as, Knorr, Rama, Stock, Ponds & Sunsilk.
Boni's philosophy about leadership is that leadership is not about the title, it is about influence and leading yourself to mastery in everything that you do. Leadership is about having a vision and leading the team to your vision, importantly it’s about treating others like how you would like to be treated. Her values are based on respect for self and respect for others.
