From humble beginnings when starting her career in banking through the assistance of a Learnership Programme, to successfully flourishing in the corporate space with over 20 years of experince in strategy, leadership and portfolio management in the financial services industry, Mpume Langa shares her journey about remaining true, rising to the challenge with a foundation of innovation and family values.
Guest Speaker: Mpume Langa
Mpume holds a number qualifications in Finance, Marketing and Executive Leadership from various universities in South Africa, China and United Kingdom; and is the Divisional Finance Director at Unilever Africa and Entrepreneur.
Her passion and skills for business transformation is manifested on a number of successful implementations of turnaround strategies for various businesses at start-up and corporate levels. She has successfully developed a number of leadership development programmes for local and multinational organizations in line with their business growth and talent retention strategies.
Mpume is a member of The Institute of Directors SA, and holds Non-Executive Directorship positions on a number of Boards in South Africa. Her other social roles include being the Former Chairperson of Women in Business at Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and former Regional Chairperson of Businesswomen's Association of South Africa. Mpume is a member of the Women Leaders of the World 2019 Programme Fellowship based in San Francisco Silicon Valley, which is made up of 1000 women Leaders from all parts of the world.
