Reflections of a Chairlady – July 2026
Some of life’s greatest lessons don’t come during our victories – they come through disappointment, misunderstandings and unexpected challenges.
Recently, I’ve been reminded that even when our intentions are good, they may not always be understood. We cannot control how others perceive us, but we can control how we respond. That response says far more about our character than any explanation ever could.
I’ve learnt that integrity means staying true to your values, even when emotions run high. That choosing peace over conflict is not weakness, but wisdom. That setting healthy boundaries protects your well-being, and that walking away from unnecessary drama allows you to focus on what truly matters.
Most importantly, I’ve learnt that every difficult experience leaves us wiser. We become better listeners, more compassionate leaders, and more thoughtful in our words and actions. The lessons may be uncomfortable, but they shape us into stronger versions of ourselves.
So the next time life doesn’t go according to plan, don’t only ask, “Why is this happening?” Ask instead, “What is this teaching me?”
Every challenge carries a lesson. Every setback offers growth. And sometimes, the lessons we never asked for become the ones we’re most grateful to have learnt.
