Business Profile: Siyasanga Soldati
- What’s the name of your business, and what role do you play in making it a success?
My business is called Buggxit Couture. I am the founder and creative director, responsible for designing our garments, guiding the vision of the brand, working closely with clients on custom pieces, and ensuring that every outfit reflects both style and cultural pride. - If you had to sum up your business in two sentences, how would you describe it?
Buggxit Couture is a fashion brand that specialises in stylish traditional wear, including Shweshwe and 3 Cats designs. We create beautiful garments for traditional brides and cultural celebrations, blending modern elegance with cultural heritage. - How long have you been on this journey, and what inspired you to start?
I have been on this journey for over 7 years, having started Buggxit Couture in October 2018. My inspiration came from a deep love for fashion and culture, and the desire to create clothing that celebrates tradition while helping women feel confident, beautiful, and proud of their heritage. - What led you to this industry – was it passion, opportunity, or something unexpected?
It was mainly passion. I have always had an appreciation for fashion and creativity, and I saw an opportunity to turn that passion into a business that also celebrates African culture and traditional ceremonies. - What has been your biggest challenge so far, and what did it teach you?
One of my biggest challenges has been balancing the demands of business with personal responsibilities. As a wife, mother, and entrepreneur, I’ve learned the importance of resilience, time management, and staying committed to my vision even during challenging seasons. - What’s the one skill or trait that has been absolutely essential to your success?
Resilience. Entrepreneurship comes with many ups and downs, and being able to stay focused, adapt, and keep moving forward has been essential to my growth. - What’s the best piece of business advice you’ve ever received, and how has it shaped your approach? The best advice I received was to start where you are and grow as you go. That mindset helped me stop waiting for perfect conditions and instead focus on building the business step by step.
- If you had to share one “secret ingredient” to business success, what would it be?
Consistency. Showing up for your business, improving your craft, and continuously delivering value to your clients makes a big difference over time. - What’s your biggest business goal for 2026, and how will you be working towards it?
My biggest business goal for 2026 is to continue growing Buggxit Couture into a well-recognized traditional fashion brand while expanding the range of products we offer. In addition to traditional wear, I would like to venture into intimate wear, particularly developing custom bra straps designed for comfort, support, and style. I will be working towards this by researching the market, refining product designs, and gradually introducing these new offerings while continuing to strengthen the brand and serve our clients with high-quality garments. - Tell us something surprising about yourself that most people wouldn’t guess!
Many people are surprised to learn that besides running a fashion business, I’m also actively involved in youth development and entrepreneurship initiatives where I support and inspire young people to build their own businesses and opportunities.
