Pam

Guest Speaker: Pamela Le Noury

Pam has enjoyed a 20-year career at sea; in marine tourism, science and conservation. She was a scuba instructor and skipper before opening her own whale watching charter business in Durban.

She participated in marine research cruises, then joined expedition cruise vessels as marine lecturer and guide in remote destinations globally. She became Expedition Leader and led over 120 expeditions worldwide from the Arctic to the Antarctic, before taking on the role of Head of Expedition Operations.

Having explored much of our planets' wilderness areas and given many talks about various conservation challenges, Pam had a natural inclination towards the conservation and sustainability initiatives in her company. She took some courses and started to develop the companies sustainability strategy.

She has since become chair of the Climate Change Committee for International Association of Antarctic Tour Operators where she is helping to drive the climate strategy for all polar tourism operators. Pam works from home in Umdloti and is passionate about helping people make sense of the climate issues and build their own climate strategies.
