- What’s the name of your business, and what role do you play in making it a success?
Susan Abro Attorney, I am the Sole Proprietor. - If you had to sum up your business in two sentences, how would you describe it? I am a Family Law Specialist, dealing with National and International matters “from the cradle to the grave”.
- How long have you been on this journey, and what inspired you to start? I have been on this journey from 35 years ago and decided to start my own practice 30 years ago and follow my passion in Family Law.
- What led you to this industry—was it passion, opportunity, or something unexpected? I was recommended to follow Law, became a partner in a large practice immediately after my articles.
- What has been your biggest challenge so far, and what did it teach you? Being a sole practitioner and losing my vision, it taught me that with the help of the amazing people I work with, losing my vision does not mean losing my practice.
- What’s the one skill or trait that has been absolutely essential to your success? Empathy, Understanding and communication.
- What’s the best piece of business advice you’ve ever received, and how has it shaped your approach? “ don’t burn your bridges” always retain past relationships and behave with collegiality no matter how difficult the issue, you will go further with collegial communication than aggrieved one-upmanship.
- If you had to share one “secret ingredient” to business success, what would it be? “ Fake it till you make it”
- What’s your biggest business goal for 2025, and how are you working towards it? Videos for TikTok to commemorate my 30 years in business still trying!
- Tell us something surprising about yourself that most people wouldn’t guess! I started collecting wines from the time I was a young Attorney; I have extensive knowledge of different wines.
