Business Profile: Arisha Ramsaran

Arisha Ramsaran
  1. What is the name of your business and what is your role? I am employed at Henley & Partners as a Private Client Advisor.
  2. Describe your business in two sentences. We are the global leaders in investment migration, specializing in citizenship & residency by investment as well as Global Education and we help families globally in obtaining a Plan B option.
  3. How long have you been in business? I have been with Henley &Partners for 2 years and 5 months
  4. How did you get into this business? I used to be a Private Banker and the bank that I worked for worked closely with Henley &Partners and when a position in KZN became available, they approached me, and I accepted.
  5. What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced, and how did you overcome it? Developing sales leads in a tough economic environment.  Because the costs of our services are either Dollar or Euro based, it is sometimes difficult to generate sales leads in the South African market, given the exchange rate fluctuations.  I overcame this hurdle by focusing on selling the overall benefits that Henley &Partners have been successfully providing.  Increasing marketing communication through tough times may not lead to immediate sales but will keep my business top of mind with my prospective clients.  When things change, and they will change, clients will be ready to take up the service we offer, knowing full well who we are and what we do.
  6. What single trait/skill could you not have succeeded without? Perseverance.
  7. What is the best business advice you’ve received? Know your numbers.  In all businesses – selling a service or a product, knowing what the numbers are of your business will keep you in good stead.  Numbers could be the P&L of your product or the number of repeat/loyal customers you have had in the last year.  This advice can be applied in all businesses, and is a cornerstone for success in my opinion.
  8. Your secret to business success is? Making my network work!  Creating and making connections within my network – not only for me and my company but for my clients and intermediaries.
  9. What is your business goal for 2024? Build on the foundations from the previous year, with a view to improving on the brilliant basics.  It is a tough economic climate but do the right things well will get me through it.
  10. Tell us one thing that not many people know about you? I am a qualified Indian classical dancer.
