Chairlady’s Musings: May

“Wherever you go, there you are.” – Read that again….

I found this quote on the second page of Robin Sharma’s new book “The Wealth Money Can’t Buy.”

I really connected with this sentence. How often do we look to the outside in an attempt to find satisfaction, and validation? Yet, our happiness and sense of worth are still lacking. As the saying goes, happiness is an inside job. Don’t get me wrong, I do believe there are toxic and unhealthy situations out there that will affect your emotional well-being. I hope that if you are in this situation, you are able to change it, and soon.) Because no matter how much you change your external environment, wherever you go, there you are. It always begins with you; never undervalue, disregard, overwhelm, belittle, or neglect yourself!
It all begins with YOU, always!

Some nuggets of wisdom I’ve heard over the years and have implemented in my personal or business life.

  1. Look after the “golden goose” (that is you!) and your life and business will be on a much more even keel.
  2. Have systems in place.
  3. Hire correctly and hire your weaknesses.
  4. Boundaries. Boundaries. Boundaries.
  5. Keep learning and growing.
  6. Ask for help.
  7. Always trust your gut feeling.
  8. You are allowed to fire clients.
  9. “No” is a complete sentence.
  10. Surround yourself with people that inspire you and challenge you and has your back.
  11. Take risks. Don’t be scared to be terrible at something new.
  12. Progress over perfection. Small steps of progress daily.
  13. Stay authentic and true to who you are and to your business’s values.
  14. Collaborate with peers.
  15. Gratitude – always!
